Boudoir Outfits That Are In Your Closet Right Now
When you book your boudoir photoshoot, there are certainly a lot of nerves and uncertainty especially when it comes to choosing boudoir outfits for your shoot. I’m here to tell you as a Grand Haven Michigan boudoir photographer that those feelings are completely normal! When thinking about boudoir, most assume boudoir outfits are exclusively lingerie. However, that’s not really the case. The boudoir outfits you choose for your boudoir photoshoot can be whatever you’d like them to be! The goal for your photoshoot is for you to be comfortable and confident in your own skin. This being said, wear what makes you feel good inside, whatever that may be!
As a Grand Haven Michigan boudoir photographer, I always encourage clients to first look in their own closets first before heading to their local lingerie shop or online store. Why? Well, you may be surprised by how many boudoir outfits you already have waiting for you in your closet! There are so many classic boudoir outfit options that can be found in the outfits you wear every single day. This blog post will walk you through a couple of my favorite already-in-your-closet options!
The simple but sexy white tee.
I am almost certain that everyone has at least one white T-shirt in their closet right now! But what can I say? It’s one of the most classic boudoir outfits out there. Personally, as a Grand Haven Michigan boudoir photographer, a simple but sexy white tee is a fantastic option for a boudoir photoshoot! I recommend a v-neck cut and a shirt that is good quality with some stretch to it. It can be paired with quite literally any bottoms you’d prefer: jeans, shorts, boyshorts, lace underwear, a thong even! If you really want to up the sex appeal of your classic tee, we can spritz you down with water. Then, we can photograph the ever-so-sexy wet-white tee look! Honestly, it’s one of my favorite boudoir outfit looks!
The cozy and comfortable sweater.
Another classic look that I am sure everyone has in their closet: a sweater! This cozy and comfy look is a great choice, especially as an outfit to start you off during your photoshoot. It offers a conservative feel so that you can ease your way into stripping it down for your other outfits. So, as you become a little more comfortable working with me, we can strip down a little more. This is also another great option that allows a 2-in-1 outfit. You can wear a cute bra and panty set underneath. By layering your bra and panty set with the sweater, you can photograph the sweater being removed. By doing so, you’re unveiling a whole new sexy look! Sweaters are super versatile, cozy, comfy, and probably already in your closet! Yay!
The sensual button-up shirt or flannel.
A great follow-up boudoir outfit option to the comfy sweater look is none other than a button-up shirt! However, there is a caveat to this outfit option! Consider not bringing your male partner’s button-up and instead bring your own. Here’s why: men’s button-up shirts are made for broad shouldered men and are typically stiff and boxy. That’s why I always recommends bringing a button-up or flannel that is your own. Women’s button-ups are more fitted to match your natural curves. That fit is exactly what we want to accentuate in your boudoir photos!
The everyday jeans and bralette look.
Another classic boudoir outfit you probably already have in your closet is the classic everyday jean and bralette look! I’m sure almost all of you probably have a pair of jeans that you think makes your booty look ridiculously juicy. Bring those and your favorite bra or bralette as an easy and sexy outfit for your boudoir photoshoot!! Personally, I think this outfit is a true winner! It can be so sexy and sensual as well as laid-back and effortless all at the same time. You just cannot go wrong!
The classic and sophisticated little black dress.
If you have a dress that you absolutely adore in your closet, bring it with you to your boudoir shoot! Whether it is a little black dress, a maxi dress, or even something a little more formal, there are so many ways to make a dress look sexy and alluring in your boudoir photos. Pair the dress with your favorite heels or shoes and you’ve got yourself a perfect boudoir outfit. The best part: it’s perfect for your photoshoot right from your closet!
The clean and sporty Calvin Klein set.
If you are anything like me, you probably have about five or six Calvin Klein sets in your closet. Calvin Klein is hands down the most comfortable bra and underwear I’ve ever worn. These sets are not only comfortable but are a sexy and sporty look. I always recommend Calvin Klein to the babes who aren’t too keen on lingerie. Especially if you are a woman who has more masculine energy, Calvin Klein is the way to go! Trust me! You cannot go wrong.
Choosing your boudoir outfits doesn’t have to be complicated!
Trust me, I know that choosing boudoir outfits for your boudoir photoshoot can be daunting. However, don’t overlook the outfits that are already sitting in your closet at home! The trick to choosing outfits for your shoot is: 1) finding what you are comfortable in and 2) finding what makes you feel sexy and confident. That’s all that truly matters!
There’s a myth that boudoir is all about lingerie. News flash: it isn’t! You can choose outfits that aren’t even close to lingerie and still look totally sexy during your boudoir photoshoot. Boudoir is all about finding what makes you feel comfortable, sexy, and sensual – whatever that looks like for you! As a boudoir photographer, I can tell you that no boudoir shoot is the same. Every session I photograph looks a little different than my last and I think that’s beautiful.
